Taking a break

A couple of months ago I wrote about my new brand experiment. I wanted to have a clear focus for my personal brand and to be more consistent in my output. I decided to focus on content marketing for startups. I started writing one post on this blog every week, set up The List (a premium monthly newsletter full of advice and tips for content marketers), and focused my Twitter account on content marketing and startups.

Today I sent the final issue of The List. It only ran for 3 months, but in that short time I was able to test whether I enjoyed working on it regularly, and sadly, I did not. I've also stopped doing consulting about content marketing.

As I told subscribers of The List, I'm not passionate enough about content marketing to focus on it. I'm passionate about the topics I write content about: habit building, lifehacking, creativity, and productivity. I'm also learning iOS development, and I'm passionate about iOS apps and learning to build my own. These are the things I think about all the time. These are the ideas that come spilling out when I don't expect them.

So I'm going to take a little break to decide what I want to focus on. See you again soon.
